Winter solstice glutinous balls (汤圆)

 











Ingredients:

200g glutinous flour (add more if preferred)

Food coloring

Sugar 

Pandan leaves, washed

Brown sugar

Steps:

1. Pour warm water about 60 degrees into glutinous flour gradually and knead into a dough.

2. Split into different portions and add food coloring. 

3. Roll small portions of the dough into round shapes.

4. Boil a pot of water and pour all the dumplings in to cook. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. 

5. Prepare a tray with sugar. 

6. When dumplings float on the boiling water, scoop them out using ladle and put into the tray with sugar and mix it. This prevents the dumplings from sticking together. Save aside for use later. Can keep this into the fridge if you can't finish it within the same day. 

7. For soup, boil another pot of water and add in pandan leaves. 

8. After water is boiled, remove pandan leaves and add in brown sugar. 

9. Once brown sugar is dissolved, scoop out the soup and add in dumplings, serve hot.
